of the individuals. allen and lawrence came up with the idea to run this to the subcommittee. kirk has followed through with that process. it really speeds things up because we can get to the amendment. frankly, i think kirk spend a few late-night evenings on the administration with it. i also want to point out, the department of the environment was helpful in reviewing what are essentially the two big challenges. the green building -- cal green -- fitting into our green coat. he did a wonderful analysis, different spreadsheet to show that we were more or as restrictive. the one thing that floated to the surface, in cal green, there is a medium building category. i think it is thousandto -- 5000 to 20000 --those would be small buildings to us in san francisco. so they are going to be captured in a way that is more akin to the larger buildings. i think that is all. if there are any other questions, i would be happy to answer. >> i have a strong concern for the gray water systems that we are in the process of looking into. is that part of the pummeling -- plumbing, progress moving forward? >> fra

in parts of the bay area. and lawrence says we might get rain this weekend. lawrence? >> and summer is not even over yet. this is about a month early folks. we have a cold front. and this is very impressive for this time of the year. here is the latest on the doppler radar. you can see the showers starting to work their way a little further to the south. most of the energy hang up to the north just a bit but guess what? yes, this is sagging down toward the bay area, and we will see some rainfall out of this it looks like. the heaviest amounts in parts of the north bay. you could see upwards of a quarter to almost three quarters of an inch of rain in parts of the north bay. you head to the east bay, maybe a quarter of an inch. and lesser amounts as you head toward the south bay but nonetheless, this is all very, very impressive, for this time of the year. what is coming up as we look toward fall? we will talk about that in a few minutes. >> lawrence, thanks. >>> thousands of protesters marched in london today, day three of the pope's four-day visit to england. this, as the pontiff ap

out of the republican senate primary to run as an independent. lawrence o'donnell asked charlie krys if there are any positions that he held as a republican that he's abandoned as an independent. >> i'm pro life. but they passed a bill in the florida legislature that would have required an ultra sound be performed on any woman contemplating stuff and also require that she would have to pay for it. i vetoed that bill because when it comes to the overall spectrum of things, my view is tax cuts, hell yes! your government in your bedroom, hell no! that sort of really defines charlie krys, i'm a frugal guy. i want to be as careful with the public's dollars as possible, especially in this economy. but i don't want to impose my personal will on people either. we're independent people. up in of us like to be told what to do on any issue. we need to respect the rights of others and that's my point of view on the issues. fiscal conservative who's a social moderate who wants to respect all and make sure that the views of the people are put first rather than the views of the party. >> be sure to

and weather. we start with lawrence because we have a mini heat wave. good morning. >> yeah. feeling good as we have already got the temperatures running very mild in the 60s all around the bay area. yeah, this afternoon going to get hot in spots. 100 in livermore, 98 concord, 97 in san jose. you are going to see a lot of 80s and 90s inside the bay. coastline temperatures in the 70s and low 80s. this heat wave not going to last long. we have cooler temperatures on the way. we'll talk about that coming up. right now, elizabeth has traffic. >> an update on this accident in concord. as of a couple of minutes ago, they just cleared all lanes of westbound highway 4. we're still seeing a few little bit of residual slowing on some live traffic sensors but hopefully that should dissipate here in the next few minutes. we'll continue to watch that but again all lanes have re- opened. and at the bay bridge toll plaza, no delay here and no metering lights. we'll have a full look at all your bay area bridges coming up. in the meantime, back upstairs to you guys. >> elizabeth, thank you. 6:01 a killing
